The Australian government will continue to fund the Northern Territories Indigenous Intervention, which supports increased police services and measures to aid in the recovery and prevention of alcoholism and child abuse.  The program will continue to receive support at least until 2011-2012.  The announcement comes amid speculation that funding might be cut, with aboriginal activists fighting for and against the program. go to article
