Kimberley Land Council chief executive Wayne Bergmann says he’s disappointed the federal government is “sitting on the fence” when it comes to a dispute over the Browse Basin gas reserves.

The West Australian government this month announced it would compulsorily acquire land near Broome, in the state’s north, for Woodside Petroleum’s gas hub because negotiations had “stalled”.

Mr Bergmann has been in Canberra this week lobbying Resources Minister Martin Ferguson and Indigenous Affairs Minister Jenny Macklin. …Go to article.
